Christmas Pajamas...what is your family tradition when it comes to pajamas? | |
My son is going to be 15 months this Christmas and I really want to think up special Christmas traditions to start. I know a lot of people have a special pair of pajamas for Christmas. Do you give them the day before? Wear them all month? Have a matching pair for everyone?
I'd love to hear what YOU and your family do each year. Please feel free to write about any other cute traditions you have.
Thanks in advance.

1we used to open one family gift on Christmas eve. Ont thing we have done is buy everyone in the family (not necessarily matching) coordinating PJ's like one year might be penguins, another dogs, another snowmen, or just a color theme. Then we would wear our PJs christmas eve night, have popcorn and hot cocoa and watch a movie

my family has always done th p thing since before i was born. on xmas eve we always go totopen 1 present -- it was always pj's and opening them marked get them on, take a familyphoto and go to bed. so once we begged to open them we knew our time was up. we always knew they were pj's but what they would be was always the ?? they didn't necessarily matcha s afamily but hada holiday theme. know i am married and have a 20 month old son the tradtion has grown to not only include the immediate family but also friends we share xmas eve with so we have moved the trend to boxer pj's -- we live in fl. so it is hot for pj's but every person that comes to xmas eve dinner gets an xmas pair of boxers yes males and females and everyone for laughs alwyas puts them on ove rthere clothes before leaving -- they know the rules though uf youdon't wear them to bed and prove it santa will not come. we have decided for our son to buy the dreaded read drop seat kind so each year his will have a similar theme -- if you can imagine my mom found those for me until i was 16 it was the going family joke
have fun with it

when my sister and i were kids mom would get us nightgowns every year for christmas and we would get them on christmas eve and wear them to bed that night. some years they would have a holiday theme, some years they wouldn't. at 19 i began working in a lingerie dept so i started buying the pjs for my sister and i and started including my cousin since there family had recently moved into town. i would get holiday themed pjs, and i was very picky because i always wanted "christmas colors" too (red, green, white, etc.)...no blue with snowflakes! one year i was able to get my mom & aunt pjs that matched ours, but haven't been able to since (they're both 5ft tall and a 2or3x so it's hard to find the right pjs). last year i was able to get myself, sister, and female cousin matching pjs, and got matching pjs for my husband, brother-in-law, and male cousin. i'm trying to do the same this year and include my mom, aunt, and uncle. it hasn't been easy buy i think i might pull it off (the guys are all from 6-6'4 and 2 of them are 240+lbs). i'm even trying to find matching pjs for the two little maltese dogs we have. when we start having kids we'll include them in on the fun too. we wear our pjs on christmas day too (we'll even take our showers/baths and then put our pjs back on). it's a fun family tradition that we all love.

evet year that my 12 year old and 10 year have been alive we put them in matching pj's on christmas eve. they look too cute and the pictures they have around the tree are beautiful. now they kinds gripe about it, however, they do ask each year if i found matching pj's!!! it is getting a little harder to find age appropriate pj's, but i make it my mission to find them! merry christmas.
