do your kids wear pajamas? | |
My son is going to be 12 in a couple of months and thinks pajamas are for "babies". He usually falls asleep in a tshirt and underwear. I don't see a problem with this, but my mom says I ought to make him wear some pajamas because it's more decent, now that he's going to be a teenager soon. What do you all think?
my son wears boxer briefs, so it's not like it's anything indecent, they look almost like shorts under his tshirts.
Answers:
1My son is 13 and does the same thing. I took him to the store and he picked out some pajama bottoms that he really felt comfortable in. In the summer months he picked out some shorts that he sleeps in. This is all normal for a boy. But if you let him make his own choices at the store they will wear them. But wearing boxer type undies is also not indecent.

my son is 14 and stopped wearing pajamas around 9 or so. i went to say good night to him and noticed he was in bed shirtless, and he said he doesn't want to wear pajamas anymore and is just going to sleep in his underwear. i was a bit surprised, but i didn't see the point in arguing over it. he has recently asked that i stop waking him up in the morning because he prefers to sleep nude.
it can be difficult for a parent to realize our children our growing up, but i also think that we need to let our kids make some of their own decisions as they get older.
